Faria Industries Company Christmas Party
December 18th, 2010 at 5:28 pm  |  1 Comment  |  Photography

Friday, December 17th I got the privilege to photograph my friend Skylar Company Christmas party. This was my first big event since I started studying photography and it was an honor. There was much to learn from this event, especially being able to adapt to unforeseen circumstances such as a hotshoe flash not working like it should. That was a huge frustration, but at the end of the day all is well. I got to meet with Skylar’s coworkers and immediately connected with a few. I had a blast being able to capture Skylar’s Company Christmas Party, meeting his family and listening to his stories from back in the day. I had a fun time, thanks Sky.

Kristy Take II
April 10th, 2010 at 2:11 pm  |  1 Comment  |  Photography

I got the opportunity to take Kristy’s picture again the past Wednesday. What makes this a "Take II" is that her first shots were not planned. I asked her to take some shots while I was taking shots of her kid. This time around I had planned out some poses so that we were more prepared and the results again came out very nice. Kristy’s session was followed by her mock makeup and hair trial for her wedding, therefore she was all glamored up for some awesome shots and it gave her the opportunity to see how her pictures would come out during her wedding. We also stepped it up a bit and did some sexy/serious poses and solved the issue of "I want to look tanner," by incorporating the use of a gold reflector. The final results were outstanding and another job well done. Check out more pictures at Facebook or Flickr.

When Jens walks in she is ready to rock’n roll. She is a very fun person to work with and she is no stranger to the camera, which helps me as a photographer. We spent several days leading up to this session, discussing ideas, looking at examples, and figuring out lighting diagrams. The results surely show the amount of work and planning that we had done ahead of time. At the end of the session we were proud of the  job we had done and I personally believe this is a turning point.
